Craig Bellamy has revealed he will be in the Great Britain squad for the Olympics, and the Liverpool forward believes the London games will be the perfect way to put a "difficult season" behind him.

Bellamy, along with fellow Welshman Ryan Giggs and England's David Beckham, has long been tipped to take one of three overage slots in Stuart Pearce's squad.

When speaking at a private event in Singapore on Sunday, Bellamy let slip that his place in Team GB has already been confirmed.

"I am in the Olympic squad - but I was supposed to keep it quiet," Bellamy is quoted as saying in The Sun.

"It's a different challenge. I had a difficult season with Liverpool but the Olympics is a one-off."

Bellamy has earned 69 caps for Wales, but is looking to once again find his goalscoring form after netting nine times in 33 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions last term.
