Ajax defender Gregory van der Wiel has admitted it would be hard to resist the chance to join Chelsea.

Van der Wiel, 24, has been linked with a summer transfer to Chelsea, with the club thought to be keen to bolster the position of right-back.

The Netherlands international was in action for his nation as they hammered Northern Ireland 6-0 on Saturday, and, speaking after the game, he outlined his interest in a move to Stamford Bridge.

Asked by Sky Sports News if it would be a tempting offer should Chelsea make an approach, Van der Wiel replied: "Yeah of course, it would be a beautiful club.

"I haven't heard anything from my manager so it's just rumours I think. We'll see.

"I watch a lot of football, Chelsea didn't have the best season but they won the Champions League and that was a great performance."
