Andy Carroll claims he is firing on all cylinders, but Norway defender Brede Hangeland feels England are running on empty heading towards Euro 2012.

England secured a 1-0 win over Norway on Saturday in Roy Hodgson's first game in charge of the national side. The new boss drew positives from the display, with Carroll and Ashley Young linking up well in attack, but Hangeland felt England had the look of a side close to the red zone.

"Sweden have a good chance," Hangeland said of the side England will face second in Group D on June 15. "It's a good England team but they look a little worn after a long season.

"It's not good preparation for the Euros to play such a tough season. Even if it was a friendly, you could see that the English players need a break."

England open their European Championship campaign against France on June 11, with their final group clash coming against co-hosts Ukraine on June 19.
