Emmanuel Adebayor is desperate to stay at Tottenham Hotspur next season - but concedes there is a chance he will return to parent club Manchester City.

Adebayor has impressed at White Hart Lane since joining on a season-long loan from City, who are keen to offload the Togolese forward.

The striker's wage demands could prove a problem if Spurs attempt to negotiate a permanent deal, however, and Adebayor admits he is uncertain about exactly what his future holds.

"I don't know. I've still got a contract with Manchester City and I'm a professional - whoever I play for I have to give it everything, and that's what I'm doing now at Tottenham," Adebayor told ESPN. "I would love to stay here but the power doesn't belong to me.

"I'm waiting for the summer to see what happens next. I just have to play well, make myself and my family happy.

"As long as I'm happy where I am, there is nothing more important than that."
