ESPNsoccernet has been told Harry Redknapp will not walk out on Tottenham Hotspur mid-season because of his "loyalty to the club".

Redknapp remains the bookmakers' favourite to replace Fabio Capello but, with Spurs challenging at the top of the table, it remains doubtful as to whether he could balance the two jobs and he has no intention of leaving White Hart Lane at this stage.

"Let me tell you that he is not going anywhere right now, that's for sure," a source told ESPNsoccernet. "Harry is loyal to Tottenham, because they have been loyal to him, and he will not walk away, he will not walk out. Next season, who knows? He might fancy another crack at the Champions League."

Stuart Pearce has been installed as caretaker manager for this month's friendly with Netherlands, which could pave the way for Redknapp to take the job ahead of the warm-up matches with Norway and Belgium in May and June, but even then the FA may be thwarted if Spurs refuse to release their manager.

ESPNsoccernet can reveal that there is no release clause of £5 million in Redknapp's contract, as has been reported.

Tottenham agreed a £5 million fee with Portsmouth when Redknapp was appointed Spurs manager, and that amount plus compensation for the remaining 15 months of a £3 million-a-year contract would be the starting point.

The FA is meeting on Friday to discuss candidates for the role and chairman David Bernstein had said during Thursday's press conference that "all options are open".

"We are not prepared to restrict ourselves at this stage," he said. "He might be English, he might be British, he might not be; he might be for the Euros only, he might be long-term. We need to look at all the options. It would be pointless, 24 hours or less after we have lost our manager, to start limiting ourselves."
