Harry Wilson rejects new Liverpool deal amid Championship interest - sources

Liverpool winger Harry Wilson has turned down a new deal at Anfield, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.

Wilson, 20, has been impressing for Liverpool at Premier League 2 level this term, scoring nine goals and assisting three in 10 appearances to help them to the top of the table.

He made his first-team debut last January as a substitute in the FA Cup replay win over Plymouth, but has fallen down the pecking order in Jurgen Klopp's first team squad.

The skilful attacker also became the youngest ever player to represent Wales when he made his debut as a 16-year-old back in 2013.

Wilson, who signed a new deal in the summer of 2016, is in line for a new contract after impressing for the last 18 months, but so far terms have yet to be agreed, alerting a number of clubs to his possible availability.

A host of Championship clubs, including Preston North End, have already expressed an interest in taking Wilson on loan in January, but Liverpool risk losing him permanently if they do not secure him on a new contract with a number of sides interested in his services.
