Yacine Brahimi's hat trick leads Porto's rout of BATE Barisov

Yacine Brahimi's hat-trick fired Porto to a new club-record Champions League victory in a 6-0 demolition of BATE Borisov at the Dragao Stadium.

Porto captain Jackson Martinez hit the target to back up Algeria midfielder Brahimi's impressive treble as the hosts romped to the landslide Group H win.

Adrian Lopez and Vincent Aboubakar rounded off the rout, with the Belarusian side hopelessly outclassed.

Algeria midfielder Brahimi pounced on a poor throw from keeper Sergei Chernik to open the scoring after just five minutes.

Fabiano pulled off a fine save from Mikhail Gordeychuk to prevent BATE getting back on level terms but after that Porto wrestled total control.

Brahimi dazzled his way past three defenders before firing home from 20 yards to double his and his side's tally just past the half-hour mark.

As the half waned Colombia hitman Martinez pounced on Danilo's cross to nod home and effectively seal the contest before the break.

Porto refused to relent after the interval, venting the frustrations of the weekend's 1-1 league draw with Vitoria Guimaraes.

Brahimi drew a foul with further neat footwork, hauled himself off the turf - and whipped the free-kick home for his hat-trick goal.

Lopez then added a close-range fifth after Vitali Rodionov failed to clear a Porto corner, before Aboubakar rounded off the goal glut.

Porto skipper Martinez had demanded greater creativity after the weekend's galling draw in league action.

His side delivered in spades, with 24-year-old Brahimi leading the charge and no doubt securing his status as an immediate fans' favourite after his summer arrival in Portugal following an impressive World Cup.
