Paris Saint-Germain have suspended midfielder Adrien Rabiot until March 27 over his recent behaviour, sources have confirmed to ESPN FC.

L'Equipe reported on Thursday that France international Rabiot, who wants to leave the club, had been internally disciplined.

It came after he was seen out at a nightclub after last week's Champions League home exit to Manchester United and "liked" a video in which Patrice Evra threatened to slap former PSG player Jerome Rothen.

Sources close to club and player told ESPN FC Rabiot will not be allowed to enter the Camp des Loges training centre until he has met leading club officials at the end of the month.

RTL reported that the meeting could result in the formal sacking of the 23-year-old, but a source told ESPN FC the situation was not certain to go that far.

Rabiot and PSG officials will discuss his recent behaviour but, although his entourage believe he could be dismissed, the youth academy graduate could yet see out the final few months of his contract.

Rabiot has spoken to InfoSport+ about his situation, having been frozen out of the senior setup since the end of last year.

"Of course, it has been hard not playing these past three months," he said. "However, this situation is not of my choosing.

"I am at the club's disposal. Everything is fine, I am in shape. If I could play I would, but the leaders have decided otherwise."

Rabiot has not appeared for PSG since December's Champions League game at Red Star Belgrade after negotiations over a contract extension broke down.

The only game the French champions play during the period of his suspension is at home to Marseille on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Rabiot said he had been unhappy about the Champions League exit to United, which saw PSG lose a 2-0 lead from the first leg to crash out on away goals.

"Despite everything that is said, I am still a PSG player," he added. "I am under contract and with my teammates.

"Going out of the Champions League to United was very disappointing, again, as it is not the first time like this."

Sources recently told ESPN FC that Rabiot has not replaced his mother Veronique as his agent in an effort to secure a free transfer move to another European giant and still saw himself playing elsewhere next season.
