Argentine club Independiente have launched an investigation following reports that some of the club's junior players, between the ages of 14 and 16, were abused as part of a paedophile prostitution ring.
Youth team-level coordinator Fernando Beron filed an official complaint after an alleged victim told of his situation to the club's psychologist, according to media reports in Argentina.
A 19-year-old youth team player, according to the reports, is under investigation for his role in selling the younger players to senior men.
The club released a statement saying they would cooperate with the courts in any investigation.
"As a result of the information which has now been made public, Club Atletico Independiente would like to announce that they cooperate fully with the courts and will put all the resources at their disposition so that they may investigate," the statement read.
"The club, of course, regret the occurrences that have involved the club in such a delicate matter. We will use all of our resources to help resolve this matter."
The case has been assigned to the courts in Avellanada, reports said.
