Czech Republic coach Karel Jarolim leaves by mutual consent following defeats

Russia 5-1 Czech Republic: Goals galore for Russia (3:23)

Russia had three players score their first national team goals, as it was party time for Russian fans all game long in Rostov-on-Don. (3:23)

Karel Jarolim has left his position as coach of the Czech Republic, the Czech football association said on Tuesday.

The decision follows a 2-1 defeat at home by Ukraine in their UEFA Nations League opener last Thursday and a 5-1 thrashing by Russia in a friendly match on Monday.

The association said it would meet with new coaching candidates in the coming days.

Jarolim was appointed in July 2016 but failed to qualify Czech Republic for this year's World Cup.
