Barcelona, Man City, Tottenham and Valencia celebrate 'Star Wars Day'

As you may have realised, today is May 4 -- that special time of year where everybody around the world cracks the exact same Star Wars pun ("May the Fourth be with you").

Several football clubs marked the occasion by sharing various bits and pieces on social media, with Valencia committing the most time and effort into their Star Wars Day output.

They celebrated by having the Millennium Falcon presumably transport their entire squad from the Mestalla to the Estadio de la Ceramica ahead of this weekend's game against Villarreal.

Elsewhere in La Liga, Barcelona offered up a more straightforward effort, though it did feature Lionel Messi dressed as a Jedi knight -- which is always nice.

Manchester City invited some young fans along for a Star Wars-themed penalty shootout with Benjamin Mendy and Kyle Walker.

Tottenham managed to put a quaint spin on the joke by roping fortuitously-named Argentine defender Juan Foyth into the equation.

All solid efforts, but none were a patch of the Columbus Crew's Star Wars Day offering from last year, in which the MLS side used their Death Star to completely obliterate the New England Revolution.

Now that's what we call a cinematic spectacle!
