Kimi Raikkonen says Ferrari could have gone faster during his final day of day pre-season testing, despite setting the quickest lap time of the winter around the Circuit de Catalunya on Thursday morning.
Raikkonen's best effort of 1:22.765 using the ultra-soft tyre compound bettered team-mate Sebastian Vettel, who had held the fastest time since the second day of testing last week. He also beat Mercedes' best time of the test on like-for-like tyres and looked competitive compared to the world champions on a race simulation in the afternoon.
"It was a pretty okay day," Raikkonen said. "In many ways we could have done faster lap times if we wanted to or slightly more running, but I think it was one of the best days that we managed to do.
"There were not many issues and quite a few laps and we only had to stop once during the race distance for red flags. It was pretty okay for us."
Asked if he and Ferrari are ready for the first race, Raikkonen said: "It was our last day [with me driving] so we did what we could and obviously you will see the end result at the first two races. But we are more or less happy with the things; there are always things to keep working on and improving, but this is a normal thing.
"I have no interest in guessing where we will be or what will happen, but hopefully it will be a good end result. We will see."
