For the first time this season, a team other than UC Irvine is at the top of the ESPN College League of Legends Coaches Poll.
Columbia College, which was third in the previous poll, earned the No. 1 spot in the country after a 2-0 sweep of then-No. 2 Maryville University in the teams' final regular-season match in the North region. The Cougars finished the regular season unbeaten and dodged a tough road to the College League of Legends regional finals as a result. The Saints now have to beat two top-25 teams in Robert Morris and Miami Ohio to make it to the North region final.
