England's women's hockey team claimed a 3-1 win over European champions Germany to finish second in their World League Final group in Argentina.

They will now face China in the last eight on Thursday, as two goals from Alex Danson and one strike from Sophie Bray helped England pick up their second win of the event.

After losing to Germany in the EuroHockey final on penalties, England exacted revenge in the event to feature the top eight nations in the women's game.

"It felt like a typical English day out there. With the rain lashing down and the pitch playing quite slow, we really had to work hard for the result," England captain Kate Richardson-Walsh told BBC Sport.

And Richardson-Walsh spoke of her delight to reach a milestone for her country.

"Two hundred England caps is not something I ever imagined I would achieve when I started playing back in 1999 and to seal it with a win in a game like that is really special," she said.
