St-Pierre 'would love' to help Hardy in future fightsBen Blackmore November 16, 2012 « Watch GSP v Condit post-fight press conference live at 6am | Mitrione replaces Carwin at TUF 16 Finale »
Georges St-Pierre has labelled England's Dan Hardy a "world class fighter", and promised to help the Brit ahead of future fights in the UFC.
Hardy has been brought in - not for the first time - to work with St-Pierre ahead of the Canadian's UFC 154 main event against Carlos Condit. Hardy has fought both men and his style is not dissimilar from that of Condit.
St-Pierre's Tristar team has a good relationship with The Outlaw who is currently rebuilding his own welterweight career after defeat to GSP sent him on a four-fight losing spiral.
Back-to-back wins have got Hardy moving in the right direction, but he still has areas for improvement - particularly with his wrestling. GSP is the best in the business when it comes to wrestling-for-MMA, and the champ says he would definitely help Hardy with future camps.
"Absolutely. I'd love to. I've trained with him before," St-Pierre told ESPN.
"Dan Hardy is a great martial artist, he's a world class fighter and he fought Condit [in the past]. He's also the same shape as Carlos, similar size, so it was great to bring him in and train with me."
St-Pierre has also worked with team-mate Rory MacDonald, whom he predicts "will win" against BJ Penn when the pair meet in December.
For now, though, GSP's focus is on Condit, his first opponent since a 19-month spell on the sidelines due to injury. The champion admits he is nervous, but he will not view victory over Condit as anything more special than any of this previous wins.
"It's always special, but it's another fight," St-Pierre said. "Fighting Carlos, he's the main guy, he's the best guy right now. That's the challenge."
