Steve McNamara is confident that Sam Burgess would go down a hit if he were to switch codes to rugby union.
Speculation has linked Burgess with a move from the National Rugby League's South Sydney Rabbitohs to Bath.
The England rugby league head coach hails Burgess' dominant form in his current code, but remarks that any swap of loyalties would be a success.
"Sam is the jewel in the crown of rugby league at the minute but I'm sure he will make the best decision for himself. I just think he's a fantastic physical specimen."
McNamara adds: "He's got great skills, is quick for a big man, he's got all the attributes to be probably whatever he wants to be."
Burgess was a leading figure during England's run to the Rugby League World Cup semi-finals, nominated Man of the Match in their loss to New Zealand.
McNamara would like to see his charge remain in the league frame, but concedes that Burgess' talent could lead to glory in union.
"Hopefully, he'll stay in rugby league and hopefully he'll continue to be part of the Souths and England rugby league team. But I am sure, if he did decide to change sports, he would be a success."
