The PDC has confirmed the Dubai Darts Masters will return in May after announcing an eight-player line-up for the 2014 event.

Michael van Gerwen won the inaugural tournament last year and will return to defend his trophy, while 2014 world finalist Peter Wright and Dave Chisnall are set to make their respective debuts at the two-day tournament.

Van Gerwen, Phil Taylor, Simon Whitlock, Adrian Lewis, Chisnall and James Wade were all given automatic selection as they make up the top six in the Pro Tour Order of Merit, while Wright and Raymond van Barneveld have been given wildcard entries.

The lucrative tournament is held at the Dubai Tennis Stadium - an open-air venue - and will begin on May 29.

Van Gerwen defeated compatriot Van Barneveld in the 2013 final to secure his crown.
