Phil Taylor landed two nine-dart finishes en route to beating Adrian Lewis 6-2 to win Sunday's UK Open qualifier in Wigan.

'The Power' was whitewashed 7-0 by reigning world champion and world No. 1 Michael van Gerwen on the opening night of the Premier League last Thursday, but the 16-time champion of the world bounced back in style to take the win in the third qualifying event for the UK Open.

Taylor, who has switched darts sponsors and is sporting a new and streamlined figure, lost in the semi-finals on Saturday in the second UK Open qualifier.

But he came roaring back on Sunday with two nine darters en route to beating his protégé Lewis in the final.
