Robbie Green further displayed his credentials to claim a maiden BDO World Championship title after comfortably dispatching Gary Robson 4-1 at Lakeside.

'Kong' took the opening set with a magnificent 12-dart leg, culminating in a bumper 167 checkout on the bullseye. Robson hit back to take the opening leg of the second set, but three consecutive legs from Green gave him a comfortable two-set lead.

A 106-out from Robson helped close the gap, but Green rallied in the fourth set with a barrage of heavy scoring. His opponent simply could not keep up as a 120 finish from Green helped seal the win in style.

Green, who hit four maximum 180 scores in the match, will now face Tony Eccles in the quarter-final after the Englishman defeated Wesley Harms with a tense 4-3 victory.

Tournament favourite Stephen Bunting continued his great start to the event with a 4-0 demolition of Dave Prins.

'The Bullet' averaged over 100 in the whitewash, which saw him with 75% success rate on the doubles after two sets. He will now face Rick Hofstra in the last eight after his opponent Martin Atkins retired from the encounter with an arm injury.

Second seed James Wilson defeated Scott Mitchell 4-2, with conqueror of champion Scott Waites Alan Norris beating Glen Durrant 4-1.
