Lars Boom wins second Tour of Britain title by eight seconds

Team Lotto NL-Jumbo's Lars Boom has won his second Tour of Britain crown by eight seconds over Edvald Boasson Hagen who claimed line honours in the final stage from Worcester to Cardiff.

Boasson Hagen broke away with three kilometres to go in a bid to claim the general classification result but Boom did enough to win the green jersey after finishing back in the peleton.

Boom last won the Tour of Britain in 2011.

Geraint Thomas was the best placed finished Briton finishing seventh overall, 24 seconds back from Boom.
