Bresnan overshadowed by Rashid in Yorkshire win

Tim Bresnan, who was this morning added to England's squad for the final Test against Pakistan, was left in the shade by Adil Rashid and Jacques Rudolph as Yorkshire won a dramatic encounter against Middlesex in the Clydesdale Bank 40.
Bresnan struck a mere eight of Yorks' total of 250 for six - Rudolph firing 124 not out - before being hit for 50 across his eight overs during the Middlesex response.
Rashid fared rather better than his England rival, taking three for 28 in an economical spell that went a long way towards Yorkshire's narrow five-run success.
Former England wicketkeeper Steve Davies gave the national selectors a reminder of his abilities as he struck an elegant century in Surrey's thumping victory over Unicorns. Opener Davies set the tone for his team by scything 101 from 85 balls, while captain Rory Hamilton-Brown hit 52 and Stewart Walters struck 78 as Surrey ran up a score of 273 for four.
Unicorns have upset the odds at times this season, but they never looked in any danger of repeating their giant-killing antics as they surrendered to defeat.
Phil Mustard, another to wear the gloves for England, emulated Davies by powering 90 at the top of the order as Durham sneaked past Warwickshire with less than two overs remaining. Warwickshire, who reached 243 for eight, were made to suffer for their inability to land any decisive blows at the end of the innings - none of their final four men at the crease scored above five runs.
Azhar Mahmood produced a fine all-round performance to act as the figurehead for Kent's win over Nottinghamshire in a rain-affected match at Canterbury. The 35-year-old collected 29 not out in the match, which was reduced to 16 overs per side, before claiming two wickets for just seven runs as Kent triumphed.
Essex's middle order crumbled as they suffered a heavy defeat against Derbyshire at Colchester. Chasing a daunting 254 for victory, Essex threatened to reach the total when they stood at 148 for three with 14 overs remaining - but they lost seven wickets for 20 runs and fell to an 85-run loss.
Moeen Ali smacked a rapid-fire 121 at the top of the order for Warwickshire as they crushed Glamorgan at New Road. Chris Ashling went for 80 runs from his eight overs as the home side amassed 296, including 50s for Vikram Solanki and Gareth Andrew. Glamorgan were all out for a paltry 121 in reply, with Shakib Al Hasan snatching four wickets.
England's Michael Yardy struck 66 from 30 balls as Sussex beat Somerset via the Duckworth-Lewis method.
Elsewhere, Scotland beat Leicestershire, while Netherlands lost to Northamptonshire.
