Stuart Broad and Kevin Pietersen, who were seen drinking until the early hours of the morning in an Adelaide nightclub, have not broken any curfew rules, according to the ECB.

The fast bowler and batsman's late-night trip to the bar have made the headlines in Australia, where they were seen drinking until around 3.30am on Sunday. The second Ashes Test is due to begin on December 5.

But with the England players given a day off on Monday, The Advertiser, Adelaide's newspaper, reports the pair were protected by security throughout the trip, with pictures of the night making the story as well.

However, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) say no rules have been breached, with a spokeswoman saying: "They are free to do as they please, they are grown men. There has been no breach of team protocol."
