With England looking to retain the Ashes in Australia for the first time since 1987, captains Andrew Strauss and Ricky Ponting were both desperate to get their hands on the urn

KEVIN KEEGAN

ESPN analyst Kevin Keegan is one of English football's most respected figures and he will be writing for ESPN throughout the season. CHRIS WILKINSON

Chris Wilkinson provides an exclusive view on the world of tennis as resident expert and columnist for ESPN.co.uk. The former British No. 1 reached the Wimbledon doubles quarter-finals in 1993 and also graced the third round of the singles at SW19 on four occasions. Wilkinson also represented Great Britain at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona and the Davis Cup.

AUSTIN HEALEY

Austin Healey has made an effortless (Lineker-style, some might say) switch from the pitch to the ESPN TV studio. Having started out with his local side, Orrell, Healey started a decade-long, trophy-filled stint with Leicester Tigers in 1996 and represented England 51 times, not to mention joining the British & Irish Lions on two separate tours.

BEN KAY

Ben Kay is one of England's best ever second-rows and etched his place in red rose immortality when he played a key role in their charge to 2003 World Cup glory. He formed a key partnership for both club Leicester Tigers and country alongside Martin Johnson and the pair experienced much success with the Tigers on both the English and European stage. He retired from the professional game in 2010 and brought down the curtain on his career lifting the Premiership trophy at Twickenham. He joined the ESPN commentary team in 2010.

GEOFFREY BOYCOTT

Geoffrey Boycott was one of England's greatest batsmen, scoring over 8000 runs in Test cricket with 22 hundreds, and until December 2012, when Alastair Cook broke the record, was the joint-leading century-maker for England in Tests.
