The injury-depleted Chicago Rush fell to the Jacksonville Sharks, 64-56, in a battle for the top record in the AFL on Friday night. With the loss the Sharks fall to 6-3 on the season.
Rush quarterback Russ Michna had a solid showing; he finished the game 22 of 31 for 292 yards and five TDs. Friday's contest was his third straight without an interception.
Michna led the team to the Jacksonville 4-yard line late in the fourth quarter, but the Chicago drive stalled when Michna's passes on third and fourth down fell incomplete.
The Rush took on the league-leading Sharks without the services of wide receivers Nichiren Flowers and Kenny Higgins.
