- Tyson Fury v Dereck Chisora
'Klitschko wouldn't fight me with a gun to his head'
Tyson Fury says current WBA, IBF and WBO world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko would not fight him even "if he had a gun to his head".
Fury is deep into preparations for his all-British rematch with Dereck Chisora on July 26 in Manchester. He has long desired a showdown and world title shot against Klitschko but told Buncey's Boxing Podcast he does not envision it happening at all.
"I don't think you could force Wladimir Klitschko to fight me if you had a gun to his head. He isn't going to fight me. I know he's not, so I'm not getting my heart set on it and I'm not even thinking about it," Fury said.
"I know in my own mind he will never fight me. I've said it for a year that he isn't going to fight me. That's just the vibe I'm getting. I can see into the future and I can see that Wladimir Klitschko isn't going to fight me."
Fury has the edge on Chisora having already enjoyed a unanimous decision victory for the British and Commonwealth belts in 2011.
However, in contrast to what he has previously said about Chisora, Fury revealed his respect for the Londoner in what could be considered to be a thinly-veiled swipe at both Klitschko and David Haye.
Haye was set to fight Fury last February but pulled out in order to undergo surgery on a career-threatening shoulder injury.
"You've got to respect a man like Dereck Chisora. He's been in there with all the best fighters in the world. Whether he's won or lost, he's still been in there and he's not shied away from anyone," Fury said.
"Let's hope he carries on that tradition and he doesn't pull out of this fight. There's been many a worse thing happen so I hope he comes and he fights. It would definitely let his reputation down if he was to pull out with an injury or fake one or something.
"I just hope him and his team concentrate and fully prepare and come in at 150 million percent. I don't want any excuses this time. I want it to be the best man wins and goes on to dominate the world.
"If he can beat me I wish him the best of luck. I just we both go in there and give our best performances and leave everything in the ring."
