Adrien Broner is the latest addition to the Floyd Mayweather Jr v Marcos Maidana May 3 undercard after it was confirmed 'The Problem' will face Carlos Molina in Las Vegas.

Broner joins Amir Khan on the bill at the MGM Grand, although Mayweather originally desired for the pair to face each other as chief support on his card.

Khan was recently overlooked for Maidana despite the Bolton fighter topping a fans' poll commissioned by Mayweather as to who they wanted him to fight next. The unbeaten American went on to suggest he would face Khan if the Brit fought and beat Broner on the undercard, although Khan replied to Mayweather's offer by suggesting he was "full of s***".

Instead, Khan fights Luis Collazo on the undercard but is still confident that a future clash with Mayweather will happen.

Broner, who suffered a unanimous decision defeat in a WBA welterweight title fight with Maidana on his last outing, makes his debut at light-welterweight against Molina following his decision to drop down from the 147lb welterweight mark.

"I had a minor setback but I am back on May 3," Broner said. "Everybody needs to understand that I just took a loss. I haven't lost it.

"I'm still 'The Problem' and anyone can get it, whether you are African, Puerto Rican, Dominican, Cuban or Mexican."

Like his compatriot Broner, Molina is also looking to bounce back from his first professional loss; Molina retired in the 10th round of his December 2012 bout with Khan.

"I am so excited to be able to fight on a card of this magnitude against Adrien Broner," Molina said.

"Sure he's tough but we all saw what happened in his last fight when he was under pressure. I have the boxing ability and punching power to beat him and that is exactly what I plan to do."
