James DeGale's planned WBC Silver super-middleweight title clash with Alexander Brand will not go ahead on March 23.

DeGale had been set to meet Brand at Glow, Bluewater in Kent, but promoters Hennessy Sports have announced that the fight will be postponed.

"Hennessey Sports would like to apologise to everyone that this unfortunate and unavoidable situation has affected," a statement read.

"Hennessey Sports and James DeGale will be issuing a statement in the coming days regarding the rescheduled date and the situation regarding tickets for this exciting encounter between these two world class fighters."

No reason has emerged for the delay to the bout, which had already been affected once when DeGale's original opponent - Pablo Oscar Natilio Farias - had to be replaced.
