Heavyweight contender Manuel Charr has claimed he is willing to fight David Haye 'on the moon' if it gives him a second world title shot against Vitali Klitschko.

Charr is desperate to met Klitschko again, having lost the first meeting with the Ukrainian world champion in controversial circumstances last September - with the referee stopping the contest due to a cut to the German, a decision Charr protested vociferously.

With Klitschko, 41, expected to retire in the near future, Charr knows he is running out of time to engineer a rematch - but is hopeful beating David Haye will get the champion's attention.

"I am ready to fight David Haye anytime, anyplace - as long as I am guaranteed a title shot against Vitali Klitschko," Charr said, according to World Boxing News. "Just tell me when and where I'll be there.

"We can do the fight in England, in Germany, in Syria, Lebanon, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, the United States, Russia, China or even on the moon if he wants!"

He added: "Haye alone isn't interesting enough for me. I want to become WBC world heavyweight champion and I want to beat Vitali Klitschko.

"Haye is only a possible step on my way to this goal. It is not a goal just to fight David Haye."

Haye is another boxer who harbours hopes of facing the elder Klitschko, having previously lost a one-sided points decision to Wladimir in 2011. But whether he will want to face Charr, whose loss to Vitali is the only professional defeat on his resume, is a different matter.

"Many people made the mistake to ignore me in the first place," Charr noted. "I usually respond to this with a quote from Gandhi: "'First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win'.

"It has been like this all my life and I'm sure it will be the same with David Haye. But I want to make one thing perfectly clear: For me fighting David Haye only makes sense if I get Vitali afterwards.
