He formed a key partnership for both club Leicester Tigers and country alongside Martin Johnson and the pair experienced much success with the Tigers on both the English and European stage. He retired from the professional game in 2010 and brought down the curtain on his career lifting the Premiership trophy at Twickenham. He joined the ESPN commentary team in 2010.
