I know that Martina Navratilova has won the most titles overall at Wimbledon. But who holds the men's record? asked Mark Cowley
Martina Navratilova won 20 senior titles at Wimbledon - nine singles, seven women's doubles and four mixed doubles - which actually tied the record, established by Billie-Jean King.
Mrs King won the singles six times, the doubles on no fewer than ten occasions, and the mixed four times.
The men's overall record is 12 titles, by the 19th-century English player Willie Renshaw. He won the singles seven times between 1880 and 1889, and the doubles five times with his brother Ernest.
The Open era record is ten, by the Australian doubles specialist Todd Woodbridge, who won the men's doubles nine times - six times with Mark Woodforde and three with Jonas Bjorkman - and the mixed once (with Helena Sukova in 1994).
