I watched Jezki win the 2014 Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham. Is the horse descended from the former Classic winner Jetski Lady? asked Dave Greaves

Jet Ski Lady, ridden by Christy Roche and trained by Jim Bolger in Ireland, won the Oaks at Epsom in 1991, as a 50/1 outsider. The horse later finished second in the Irish and Yorkshire Oaks races, before being retired after trailing in 13th in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Jet Ski Lady was then put out to stud, but despite being mated with several leading stallions she failed to produce any notable progeny.

But Jezki, the 2014 Champion Hurdle winner, was sired by a Classic winner: his father is Milan, who won the St Leger in 2001. Jezki's dam was another Irish horse, La Noire.

In the Champion Hurdle Jezki was ridden by Barry Geraghty, as his regular jockey AP McCoy had opted to pilot My Tent Or Yours instead. In an exciting finish, Jezki just held off McCoy's mount by a neck to claim the big prize. Back in fourth was Hurricane Fly, the Champion Hurdle winner of 2011 and 2013.
