Phil Taylor will be looking to collect his first legs and points of the 2014 Premier League campaign, and very quickly put behind him the whitewash he suffered on the opening night.
Reigning world and Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen thrashed Taylor 7-0, and the world No. 1 was not in a sympathetic mood to the player who has dished out similar punishments to opponents for more than two decades.
Taylor, with a new set of darts and a streamlined figure, returned to form in the UK Open qualifiers on Sunday, hitting two nine darters en route to the win over Adrian Lewis in the final, and Lewis is Taylor's opponent on Thursday. Taylor is priced at 11/10 to get the better of Lewis, and is determined to put an end to playing second fiddle to Van Gerwen.
