Tottenham with the edge over Arsenal

For the past four or five summers it seems everybody - not just Tottenham fans - have been tipping white to reign supreme over red in North London in the coming season.

Time and again Arsenal have proved the doubters wrong, but heading into Sunday's clash at The Emirates there can be no argument that Spurs' transfer business has given them the edge for the new campaign..

While Arsene Wenger has sat twiddling his thumbs bringing in an unproven youngster and a has-been with the free transfers of Yaya Sanogo and Mathieu Flamini, Tottenham have gone about spending their expected £80 million-plus windfall from the sale of Gareth Bale very wisely.

The triple acquisition of Vlad Chiriches, Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen will do no harm to Spurs' chances of finishing above Arsenal for the first time in 18 years. But it is Roberto Soldado who has already taken up the mantle of replacing Bale's goals - the Welshman hit 26 last year - with four in his first three games.

He has netted back-to-back spot kicks to give Tottenham's 1-0 wins over Crystal Palace and Swansea, as well as a 100% record in the Premier League. If you fancy him to repeat the trick, Soldado to score the only goal with Spurs winning 1-0 is 35/1 with bet365.

To be honest though, the North London derby is never usually shy of goals. The last two matches at The Emirates between the two sides have ended up 5-2 to Arsenal. Thoughts of lightning striking three times, you can get 80/1.
