Felipe Massa is confident Williams will see a return to form this weekend in Bahrain after a disappointing showing in Malaysia last weekend.

Massa was fifth fastest in second practice despite losing track time early in the session and he believes his pace was more representative of Williams' place in the pecking order.

"It was a good understanding of where we are and definitely the car shows a little bit better pace compared to the last race - not Australia, but the last race," he said. "I hope this can be our direction and this is something we can see tomorrow as well."

However, Massa is wary of a number of teams and does not think Williams will have the advantage it had during testing in Bahrain before the season.

"Ferrari is definitely stronger than how they were here in testing, Red Bull is much stronger than how they were here in testing and McLaren is there in the fight as well. We saw some teams that improved and I hope we can still be there fighting."
