Dwain Chambers' incredible British Championship form continued on Sunday as he claimed his fifth consecutive men's 100 metres title in Birmingham.

Chambers defended his crown with a final time of 10.12 seconds to secure his eighth British title, a seasonal best time which also sees him qualify for the European Athletics Championships in Zurich in August.

"I'm getting younger with age," Chambers, 36, told BBC Sport. "Experience is working for me."

Harry Aikines-Aryeetey finished second in 10.14 seconds while Chijindu Ujah crossed the line in third place with a time of 10.18 seconds. Richard Kilty completed the top four.

Asha Philip successfully defended her British women's 100m title, winning the final with a time of 11.11 seconds.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson eased to victory in the long jump. The Heptathlete set a personal best at 6.81 metres to claim the title.

Eilidh Child won her first British title in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 55.58 seconds.

"It's great just to win a race, but I just wanted to get this race out of the way, win it, get qualification for the Europeans so I can focus on the Commonwealths," Child said.

Martyn Rooney passed Conrad Williams on the final straight to win his fifth 400m title. He also cemented his place in the British team for Zurich following his time of 45.78 seconds. In the women's, Kelly Massey was victorious with a time of 52.42 seconds. She edged Shana Cox in the final stages to win her first title in Birmingham.

Elsewhere, Julian Reid jumped a seasonal best distance of 16.82 metres to win the triple jump final while Sophie Hitchon, the British record holder, won the javelin by over two metres with a throw of 65.56m.
