Former Olympic triple jumper Phillips Idowu has been given a two-year driving ban after pleading guilty to driving while over the limit.
The 34-year-old was two-and-a-half times over the legal alcohol limit after being caught while driving his white Land Rover on September 20.
Idowu has been ordered to do 50 hours' community service and fined £145, and £85 in costs. Idowu failed a roadside breathalyzer test and was tested for a second time at Epping police station. His solicitor claims he had been out with friends the night before and did not anticipate driving in the morning.
