Supporters of Bath Rugby and Northampton Saints have reacted with disbelief following the news their clubs will be offered just 1000 tickets for the Amlin Challenge Cup final on May 23.

The match will take place at the Cardiff Arms Park, a ground with a capacity of 12,000. Fans from both clubs have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment at the announcement.

There were calls for European Rugby Cup Ltd, the organisers of the Amlin Challenge Cup, to shift the game to the Millennium Stadium or the Cardiff City Stadium. The latter hosted the 2011 final where Harlequins beat Stade Francais 19-18 and the attendance was 12,236 in a stadium that holds 26,628 fans.

Tickets for the game have been on sale since September.
